Free American Hikers-Shane Bauer, Sarah Shourd & Joshua Fattal From Iran

On Friday, July 31, 2009, three American hikers-Shane Bauer, Sarah Shourd and Joshua Fattal and charged by Iran with illegal entry, were taken just as U.S.-Iran relations are growing more nuanced. The three crossed over into Iran by mistake at the border. They were not involved in any riots or rallies inside Iran. They crossed over the border inadvertently. I too have been on the border visiting Kurdistan while seeing the country. I could have easily crossed over the border mistakenly because there really is not much to delineate the border.

We need a team of international supporters who are simple grassroots folks wiling to organize teams to work on vigils, and petitions, as well as people with ties to the media and foreign countries that can put serious pressure on IRAN to release the hikers.
